One
room is devoted to the actor's cars, racing
career and fatal crash. The running replica
of Dean's rare Porsche 550 Spyder was built
by Brian Hatton, the son of Paul Hatton, a custom
painter and Detroit racer whose fast Fords included
the SOHC-powered Boss Hoss 1966 Mustang (campaigned
with Paul Stefansky). Fred Wagenhals of Action
Collectibles drove this roadster and ordered
a duplicate from Brian Hatton Enterprises in
Antioch, Tenn. (Good Communications photo by

The Rebel room contains
the brown pants and white T-shirt that Dean
wore in the 1955 movie, released two weeks before
his death. Also seen onscreen was the white
fence at left, which collector David Loehr luckily
discovered lying on an L.A. sidewalk, awaiting
the trash truck. (Good Communications photo

The October 6, 1955,
edition of Dean's hometown weekly carried
details of his shocking death. The photo
is captioned, 'A Student at UCLA.' (Good
