PRO STOCK

"We think we're at the point where we are turning the corner, but we only have three races left this year. We are seeing small results and it looks like we're getting it figured out. We're making progress, just not as fast as we'd like." -- Jim Yates on his search for improved performance in what has been a disappointing season so far

"The car is made of carbon-fiber and tubing, so I don't think it has a mind of its own, although sometimes it seems to." -- Warren Johnson on the perplexing handling troubles he's battled most of this year

WJ and Troy Coughlin met up in the final round of Pro Stock

"That was very exciting. I don't want to sound like I'm bragging, but (crew chief) Eddie (Guarnaccia) and I felt we could run well here. Our car is running very well and Larry Morgan's Hemi motors are making awesome horsepower." -- Kenny Koretsky on being qualified number one on Friday with a 6.697-second pass at 205.16 mph, the first sub-6.70 Pro Stock run at the track closest to Koretsky's Richboro, PA, home

"It's nothing like it was early in the season when almost all we had to do was show up, drive our Pontiac Grand Am down the track and we had the pole. Times have changed. We have to fight and claw for every thousandth of a second we can get." -- Greg Anderson after securing his 15th number-one starting position this year with a track record e.t. of 6.693 seconds

"We made quite a few changes before that last run, and learned a lot, running our best sixty-foot time ever. In addition, I think there is at least another hundredth if we can resolve a shock problem and smooth it out over the bumps." -- Kurt Johnson after becoming the only driver to bump into the field on Saturday with a 16th-place effort

"We missed the tune-up completely on our last run. We went one direction and actually should've gone the opposite way. We thought we had it figured out, but we didn't. We may have a problem with the chassis. I think we've replaced everything on it except the rear end, but we need to look at it. The motor is fine. It's disappointing to not be able to race here Sunday." -- Yates on not qualifying at Reading, one of his favorite tracks on the circuit and where he's won three times in the past

"I'm not sure what happened up there but the end result is obvious, we lost the race. It's disappointing, but this is a part of drag racing. I've been fortunate that this hasn't happened much to me in my career, but it still doesn't feel that great." -- Jeg Coughlin Jr. on falling to Allen Johnson in the first round, losing to a holeshot for the first time since the St. Louis race in 2003, a span of 33 national events

"We struggled with the left lane here all weekend. I'm glad we got out of here with one round win, but I know we're capable of much more. I know they say you can't win them all, but our team tries to do just that." -- Dave Connolly after falling to Jason Line in round two

"The coating went away on our clutch in qualifying and we chased the problem for two runs. Then, the car jumped out of gear and we lost another run. By the time we got into eliminations, we just didn't have the amount of data that the other teams had. The bottom line is that this just wasn't our weekend." -- Terry Adams, crew chief for Connolly, expanding on their troubles at Maple Grove

"Normally I'm better than that on the Christmas tree, but I didn't want to red light. Heck, in this case that was nothing to be ashamed of." -- Koretsky on his .045 light in the semis that lost out to a .026 by Line
