An LVMS record 210 entries met at the Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the Pacific Street Car Association-CORTECO Shootout Series.

Rick Head (lead photo) in his late model Camaro took the win in the Product Engineering Heavy Street category over Joe Barry when Joe's '56 Chevy caught fire off the starting line. In the final, Head recorded the quickest radial tire pass in history running 7.885 at 180.74 mph.


Highlights of this event include Jason Mack's 2004 Mustang running a record-setting 7.341 e.t. in the Tom's Differentials Outlaw Street category. He also recorded the fastest mile per hour in PSCA Outlaw history with a stout 197.22.


Rod Pickett's beautiful flamed Chevy II qualified third in Outlaw Street with a strong 7.967.


Clint Hairston led qualifying in the Hughes Performance Pro Street class piloting his turbocharged Camaro running a strong 6.768.
