CITRUS NATIONALS

or the second year in a row, Bruce Horner of Bergenfield, NJ, and Bill Evans Jr. of Miramar, FL met in the final round of the Murray's Mountain Dew Citrus Nationals at Moroso Motorsports Park. And, as last year, Horner got the Top Alcohol Dragster win, this time with a 5.817/243.24 to Evans's 6.129/233.64.

Bruce Horner, 59, probably has been to every Citrus Nationals held since 1982. He certainly seems to have a handle on what it takes to win.

It may not be colorful, but the Horner Bros. new Pro Start TAD certainly got the job done.

Terry McMillen had assistance from former Funny Car World Champ Mark Oswald and Dale Creasy, Jr., but wasn't able to get down the Moroso surface. McMillen went up in smoke after the first few hundred feet on three of four runs.

McMillen was testing his new Top Fuel ride at Moroso. He had a best of 5.37/291.82.
