Rodney Ward prevailed over 22 entries to take the Ford Racing Open Comp win home to Muncie, IN. In the final, Ward ran his ‘65 Mustang to an 11.83 on an 11.72 dial-in to beat the 12.06 on an 11.89 dial by Chip Leetch in his 1991 ‘Stang.

Defending FFW Pro champion Chuck Samuel debuted a brand-new Jerry Haas-built ’04 Mustang at Atlanta with sponsorship from RVLendingGroup.com. Samuel clearly was not happy after bowing out in the semis, but said the car “ran great” all day.

Defending IHRA Pro Stock champion John Nobile made the trek down to Atlanta from Dix Hills, NY, to take a shot at the $20K Pro purse, but fell in the first round to Chuck Simons after qualifying fourth.
