The Steeda/Hyland Mod Motor final featured
the 2000 Mustang GT of Alabama’s Gary Youngblood (far
lane) against the ’96 GT of Hudson, FL’s Barry
Burich. Youngblood won with a 12.65 pass against a 12.64
dial, while Burich went 10.86 after dialing in at 10.72
seconds.
The JDM Engineering Tough Truck title
in Atlanta went to Dallas, NC’s Micah Monteleone in
his 2000 Ranger. Monteleone went 14.31 on a 14.28 dial in
the final round against the 12.11 on a 12.04 dial by defending
class champ Lacey Gassaway in his ’77 pick-up.
Matt Jones (near lane) and Daniel Bott—the
numbers one and two qualifiers, respectively—squared
off in the Edelbrock Street Bandit final. Jones overcame
the .037 holeshot by Bott to post a winning 8.598-second
pass at 156.49 mph. Also winning at Atlanta were John Hewlett
(BFGoodrich Drag Radial), James Black (Borla Exhaust Street
Renegade), John Scaro (Blow-By Racing Street Warrior), Darrell
Lucas (SCT Street Stang), and Mark Adkins (JBA Exhaust Focus
Frenzy).
