Hiram, GA’s Al Garren drove his ’83 Malibu Wagon to the Jeg’s Super/Stock Challenge title at Atlanta. Garren defeated the ’85 Camaro of Oxford, AL’s Tim Harris in a double-breakout final.

After defeating Paul Adams and his ’66 Fairlane in the Pro Nostalgia final, Joe Jacob said he drove down from Sterling Heights, MI, “just to work out some chassis bugs and we got more than we planned for out of the weekend.” Jacob said his 1964 Plymouth Sport Fury currently carries a 477 c.i. Wedge motor, but a new 452 c.i. B1 Wedge is going in soon, “and that will put us right in the thick of things.”

Thanks to a huge .077 holeshot, Virginia’s Randy Lambert (near lane) won the Super Street final in his 1998 Camaro with a 7.633-secs pass against the 7.579 by Mike Libecap’s ’96 Olds Achieva. Also sharing the winner’s circle at Atlanta were John Schroeder (Nostalgia Pro Street), Bill Trovato (Limited Street), Bruce Maichle (Real Street), Jenni Merrick (EFI), Scott Williams (American Muscle), and John Balinsky (Drag Radial).
