In his second race for Jim Oddy's
Summit Racing Equipment-sponsored Pro Mod team, Steve Bareman
took his newly rejuvenated '53 Corvette to the final round,
only to have a $2.00 bolt fail. He ran rounds of 6.276/229.90,
6.205/232.23, and 6.211/232.07 to get to the final, setting
