The jet-powered trucks of Bob Motz and Les Shockley never fail to bring the house down.

In Nitro Harley, the No. 1 and 2 qualifiers met for all the beans. Doug Vancil, seeking his fourth IHRA win this season, pushed his Vance & Hines nitro burner to the top spot with a low e.t. 6.331/210.87 followed by Steve Stordeur, who set top speed at a 6.377/221.31 gallop. For Stordeur, the final had to be almost as frustrating for him as the Top Fuel final was for Litton. Stordeur red-lighted away a likely winning 6.373/212.83 to lose to Vancil's 6.64/184.50.

The 37 entrants in Pro Modified just about out-numbered the fans, or so it would seem from this final round shot.
