Even though he went out in the first round, Thomas Patterson finally overhauled Shannon Jenkins for the lead in the DRO/NMM Cup points lead at E-town. Patterson leads Jenkins by a slim 10 point margin and with no more conflicting dates it appears that the race for the Cup will be a dogfight to the very last lap of the very last race. One qualifying position could decide the Champion.

Tommy Mauney, driving Mike Ashley's number two car, was a little late getting to E-town and missed the first two qualifying sessions on Friday. He did make two laps on Saturday but couldn't get the 'Vette down track.

Chip King and his tuner Bill Barrett had a tough week-end. They did make the show in the eighth spot, but had some engine problems along the way.
