Even though he went out in the first round, Thomas Patterson
finally overhauled Shannon Jenkins for the lead in the DRO/NMM Cup points
lead at E-town. Patterson leads Jenkins by a slim 10 point margin and
with no more conflicting dates it appears that the race for the Cup
will be a dogfight to the very last lap of the very last race. One qualifying
position could decide the Champion.

| Tommy Mauney, driving Mike Ashley's number
two car, was a little late getting to E-town and missed the first
two qualifying sessions on Friday. He did make two laps on Saturday
but couldn't get the 'Vette down track. |

| Chip King and his tuner Bill Barrett had a
tough week-end. They did make the show in the eighth spot, but had
some engine problems along the way. |
