Sacramento Raceway Park was the scene for the
Gold Rush Nationals. Pro Nitro points champion was James Generalao,
who moved from Hawaii to Las Vegas because the racing opportunities
are better. No wonder the car is named "Impatient."
Low e.t. qualifier Bonnie Philson drove her
Chevy to 7.60, 7.62 and 7.61 rounds. The Dave Riolo blown powerplant
is tuned by Leroy Philson.
Side-by-side 5.89's! Jim Murphy (far lane) won
the quickest Nostalgia Top Fuel race ever with a 5.891/245 to Bill Dunlap's
5.892/237. Murphy defeated Brendon Murray in the final match-up.
Okay, which car is more aerodynamic? The 7.60 cars
were a diverse group.
DRO's transmission wizard, Mike Stewart, won the
T/EI class in his Mike's Transmission dragster.
Brett Hankins debuted his new "Blue
Blazer," turning a 7.00 but lost to Steve Tyron's "Bad Company" (far
lane) which ran 6.82.
