STREET CLASS

John Shepherd, from North Lawrence, Ohio, took his eighth victory in eight IDRC appearances and clinched the Importdrag.com Street class championship. His '93 Eagle Talon was number one qualifier at 10.600/144.15. He was a full second quicker than any other qualifier and was at least that much quicker than any opponent he met in competition. In the final round Shepherd ran 10.506/143.55 against James Petersen's Eclipse, which ran 12.659/116.09.

Ari Yallon was second in the points race, with Jeff Hill, Steven Kan, and Brandon Nasu rounding out the top five.

ALL-MOTOR CLASS

Scott Kelley's '69 Volkswagen Fastback dominated the All-Motor class, qualifying number one and winning the event. The Toyo Tires entry, seen here in the far lane against Tom Fujita's Honda CRX, moved ahead of Scott Mohler to take the first-ever IDRC All-Motor championship. Kelley faced arch-rival Bisi Ezerioha in the final and although heir reaction times were almost identical, Kelley was first to the finish line.

Fred Ellis was third in championship points after Mohler, Ezerioha's '88 Honda Civic was fourth and Troy Smith was fifth.
