Matt Hartford's Hoyos Racing Ford Focus wasn't at the event, but won the Toyo Tires Pro Class championship with 591 points to the second-place total of 251 for Efren Vazquez. Shiobara was third in points, followed by Marcos Acosta, with Daniel Gonzalez and Adam Saruwatari tied for fifth.

Who says imports aren't big-time racecars? Adam Saruwatari's rig is way cool.

OUTLAW CLASS

Stephan Papadakis won the final event and the Outlaw championship. His AEM '99 Honda Civic also qualified number one with an 8.498 at 176.05 mph. Ray Lochhead red-lighted in the final round, somewhat ironic as he was the beneficiary of a red-light by Carlos Montano in the semis.. In the championship points Carlos Montano was second, Carlos Gonzalez was third, Lochhead was fourth and Juan Lopez rounded out the top five.

QUICK 16

Jojo Callos (above photo) set the IDRC record in the Quick class at 9.182 during the quarter-finals and ran fairly consistent mid 9-second runs all day, but lost it in the final round when the dreaded red bulb gave the win to Brent Rau. Seven of the 16 qualifiers ran in the 9's.

Rau, driving a 1995 Eclipse GSX, clinched the championship a mere 7 points ahead of second place Mike Crawford followed by Gary Gardella, Sean Glazar and Brent Leivestad.
