IT'S NOT WHERE YOU START IT WHERE YOU FINSH, PT II
Craig Marshall in Super Stock and Daryl Bureski in Stock
proved once again that qualifying has nothing to do with winning except
it gives the racer the chance race on Sunday. Marshall qualified number
37 in his Super Stock Dodge Coronet and Bureski number 59 in his Cutlass,
but both men took home the winner's share of the cash on Sunday.
SOMETIMES BEING NUMBER ONE IS GOOD
Joseph Aluise qualified number one in Top Stock competition
with his '63 Plymouth Belvedere 426 and then went on to the victory,
defeating Paul Murcure's '68 Camaro in the heads-up final. Murcure had
low ET for the Top Stock racers with a 10.34, but couldn't convert in
the final when he could only run a 10.40 to Aluise's 10.36.

Todd Matthias was number 15 qualifier in his
Modified '86 Camaro with an 9.81. |
