CACKLEFEST
It was then time for Cacklefest, where drivers and crews
of the past bring out their famous dragsters and parade them before
the grateful masses, a tribute that these cars still get out there and
run. Saturday's Cacklefest was "awesome." Dragsters and push trucks
started their rides by pushing down the return road and resting behind
the starting line.
Wave after wave of swoopy, front engine dragsters fired
to the cheers of the crowd pressed against the fences... the Freight
Train, The Northwind, The Vagabond, Dwight Salisbury in Rocky Childs'
The Addict, the Howard Cams Rattler all made the turn, popping and cracking
followed by pick-ups full of crew members grinning ear to ear.
