and then shut off, leaving a trail of "stuff" through the top half

| Mike Dunn recorded the second quickest
run on Friday, clocking a 3.106/268.49 at half track. By Saturday,
the Yankee team had improved to a 3.095/271.95 half-track run. Sunday's
qualifying times weren't quite as good, and tire shake accounted
for some short trips down the track. |

| Tire shake caused handling problems
for Gary Densham also, but he managed half-track runs of 3.417/246.54
on Friday, 3.384/243.33 on Saturday, and 3.397/243.63 on Sunday. |
