Dale Pittman, who made
a late-season charge, came away with the Nostalgia
Pro Street win, beating Jack Boer in a record-setting
run of 7.54 at 182 mph. Earlier, Ross Stomp
clinched his first PRO championship after Tony
Nesbitt lost in the first round.
Nick Rinehart distanced
himself from the Xtreme Street field and clinched
his first championship after Bob Curran lost
in the first round. Rinehart defeated 2002 champion
Tony Orts in the final, 8.45 to 8.74.
Chris Uratchko had clinched
the championship early, but lost in the first
round and was not a factor in the final race
of the season. That was a showdown between Charlie
Booze Jr.(photo) and Jake Holdrege. Booze took
the win light after Holdrege's car launched
into a huge wheelstand that ended up carrying
the car into the wall upon landing.
Jay Canella took the Cheap Street win over
season champion Jeremy Taylor, running 10.02
to Taylor's off-the-pace 10.69. Kim Smith tasted
victory for the first time in Nostalgia Super
Stock by defeating newly crowned season champ
Jeff Puckett in the final. Other race winners
were Jim Barr (DTS Nostalgia Muscle Car) and
Larry Geddes (Superchips Open Comp).
