We figure that by this time of year any serious fan of NHRA drag
racing has already gotten all of the stats about the World Finals
from a variety of sources so we opted for a photo page. We sent DRO
photographer Tim Marshall to the race with the assignment to shoot
things we wouldn't see in National Dragster. We hope you enjoy his
work.

Kenny Bernstein came out on top of one of
the closest World Championship points races in recent history.
He had to go to the semi-finals of the last race of the season
before he froze Don Prudhomme's driver Larry Dixon out of any
mathematical chance of winning the last Winston World Championship
for Top Fuel. Bernstein is the only driver in drag racing history
to win World Championships in both Top Fuel and Fuel Funny car. |

Next year will be the likeable Texan's last
in the seat. At Pomona he announced his last season would be called
the "Forever Red" tour. |

New York racer John Nobile went from being
sponsored by Mopar to being off the deal. Nevertheless, DRO likes
his New York skyline, flag and paint. |
