Angelle Savoie was another Pro Class racer who didn't sew up the Winston World Championship until late in eliminations at the World Finals.
It was indeed the "finals" for the Pro Stock Truck class, but not everyone was reconciled to that fact.
How about this for a rumor -- Garlits will drive a Top Fuel car for John Force in 2002. Just kidding folks, but still...
