ANOTHER PROPOSAL
After reading the publisher's article in
the June issue of DRO I was kind of pissed
at the NHRA. I feel like Pro Stock Bike is
the biggest waste of good TV time on the ESPN
broadcasts and usually change the channel
while they "race".
To me and my crew, it would seem that a better
use of the air time would be to nix the bikes
(even the reigning world champ can't get sponsored)
and put those Pro Mod rebels in that slot.
We love the grass roots feel of PM, we love
the characters, we love the diverse combinations,
and we love the fact that many of the body
styles they race are seen on the street everyday.
Can you point me in the right direction as
far as email addresses go at the NHRA to lodge
a useless complaint? Thanks a million and
I love the mag.

THE ARMY OF ONE!
The one word that could best describe Tony
Schumacher's weekend in Joliet would be WOW!
In less than 5 days Alan Johnson and the entire
ARMY Team took a very dismal first

half
of the year and turned it into to a "First
Class" Top Fuel Team. I was at the race in
Joliet. I am very good friends with Tony &
Cara Schumacher, so to see him win and in
his own "back yard," was icing on the cake.
I must admit I was a little skeptical about
Alan Johnson coming to the ARMY Top Fuel Team.
But, I was quickly silenced after the first
qualifying session when Tony laid down an
"Out of the trailer" 4.60 run. Then on Saturday
all the critics and skeptics were silenced
in a matter of 4.51 seconds. I must admit
I was a little nervous before first round
on Sunday. Tony had always done fairly well
in the last few years in qualifying. But,
he was also out after the first round. But
that was a thing of the past after he ran
another 4.51 in beating Luigi Novelli. After
that it was like "Shooting fish in a barrel."
As far as the final went not only did Tony
beat Larry Dixon, he left on him. And ran
a 4.53 in the "so called not good lane!"
There's a new "Sarge" in town, and his name
is Tony Schumacher!!!!
Thank you,
Mr. Kevin A. Bennett:-)
CLOSE ENOUGH FOR GOVERNMENT
WORK?
I am amazed that someone changed the barrel
valve and got the leakdown close enough to
start and run in the pits to (Mark) Thomas's
expectations.

SAY WHAT?
I think it about time to start random drug
testing, specifically Mark (Thomas) & Jimmy
(Rector)! I've heard of some lame excuses
but "Someone stole my spool valve"! Maybe
your dog ate it? Stop it, yer killin me! LOL...............:)
Inf***incredible!
