BIGGER ISN'T ALWAYS
BETTER
I just had something to get off my chest. I think as the
cost to race national events and division races goes up
for racers and spectators the small organizations like the
world alcohol racers, UDRA, NSCA, big bracket races, PMRA
will see their car count go up. I'm getting tired of national
events' high ticket prices, parking a mile away also every
time I go to a national events I always come away with mud
on my car. I think you have to go to one national event
a year to smell some nitro fumes. Other than that stick
to small races they put a good show for half the price.

98 PERCENT CORRECT
Hi Jeff,
Been keeping up with the DRO thing...pretty interesting.
I personally enjoy the Agent 1320 just about the most. Keeps
me up to date on what's going on.

I also enjoy your commentary, although I don't always agree
(I agree with about 98%) with it. Your latest piece was
right on the money about the future of the sport. The Ken
and Barbie comment was great...or how about the robotic
delivery on the top end from Kurt Johnson or Doug Kalitta.
In my opinion it's one reason why NHRA is starting to get
its butt kicked by IHRA. Look at what they do on their Night
of Fire Saturday night qualifying runs, with the jets, and
other entertainment. Standing room only every week they
run.

TEN-WIDE IS WHERE IT'S AT
The hottest class in drag racing today is the Outlaw 10.5
cars. They are a lot of the things you talk about in your
Burk's blast column. Heads up racing, racers that are not
cookie cutter PC, the cars are like the ones that were in
your high school parking lot (only much faster) regardless
of when you were in school. Everything from a '53 Stude
to an '05 Mustang. The cars don't look like the decal covered
cars of the NHRA, they look like street machines (that run
200MPH) The class needs no explanation to the first time
fan. It looks like a class that anyone could enter in and
be successful at, not one that only a lottery winner could
do. And it seems to be sweeping the nation, kind of reminds
you of the funny car days of the late 60's and 70's.
Keep up the great work.

MOVIN' ON UP?
Regarding the 8.90/9.90/10.90 bracket classes: If you break
out you automatically go into the next faster class. I think
it would work.
