WHERE WAS BRANDON?

I watched the highlight show, NHRA thrills and spills. They did not show Brandon's crash! That was the single most spectacular crash of the year. How could you omit that! I was 50 feet from where it took place, so I know what I am talking about.

You guys have a great site; keep up the good work.

MONEY, MONEY, MONEY

I am amazed at the incredibly large numbers of people who have such huge amounts of money to put into racing of all sorts. After 25 years of bracket racing, I just gave up because I wasn't willing to keep up with the spending that even that form of racing

requires. I look at fastest "street" cars and see Pro Mods with mufflers. Too many Pro Mods then we'll go and out spend people who are into street car racing. Whether it is street cars, imports or NHRA, it will always come down to those who can or will just spend the money. I used to see cars that looked a lot like Super Gas cars in the "street" classes. Now they look like Pro Mods. People give up, new ones come in and the cycle continues.

Excuse me, I am just old, poor and jaded.

NEW ENGINE RULE MIGHT BRING NEW BLOOD

Just wondering why NHRA limited Top Sportsman in Division 3 last year to a 32-car field? Some racers I know didn't go because they were afraid they couldn't make the cut and don't want to waste their money just trying to qualify.

Seems to me NHRA is wasting a good chance to bring fun to watch sportsman racing to its spectator-lacking divisional series. Just wondering if a similar engine rule applied to Top Fuel and Funny Car as was done to NASCAR would lower the cost of racing so that we might see some new blood, one car teams, and some older teams who are dropping out due to lack of funding show up at the races again? Thanks for a great magazine.

WHO BROUGHT THE BANANAS?

Loved (Lenny's) latest "line" on DRO! The "800 pound gorilla" has definitely lost sight of what's best for the sport and only focuses on what's best for the gorilla and mindless hordes that come to gawk at it.

Keep up the great writing!

STREET CARS? #1

From (Ian Tocher's) article: "I mean, even the most basic car has to have 20grand or more wrapped up in it, not to mention the tow vehicle, trailer, and tools."

If these are supposed to be fastest STREET cars, they would not need the tow vehicle or trailer. This is a dumb class.

STREET CARS? #2

Street car racers should be --STREET CARS-- Drive them to the track and hopefully back home. How about modifieds. Some great and FAST cars in these classes, BUT they have nothing to do with street. To call any class "street cars" does WAY more harm than most of us can ever imagine.
