CAN WE GET A RULING?
The biggest problem 10.5 is facing is their
rules. ORSCA starts the year with outlaw 10.5
rules for 2005 as spec. 25.2, now in their
rules there is nothing about spec. 25.2. Is
it or isn't it? E-mail is not responded to.
Limited Street has the same problem: back-half
or no back-half cars? When people build a
car and sink a lot of money into that car
the rules change & they can't keep up. GET
A SET OF RULES & DON"T CHANGE ANYTHING. That's
my view.

A (MAYBE) FOR PRO STOCK
Maybe the answer is kinda known already;
meaning to have Pro Stock cars more important
or popular with the fans. Remember what was
the main reason (why) Line went

to
Anderson -- cuz of the reality of driving
the second Pro Stock car. The idea that a
regular fan could ever drive a pro type rated
car is close to none. So, if there was some
kind of raffle and the winner could drive
a Pro Stock related horsepowered car this
might help with the desire.
Here is a neat way to understand. Do you
know (why) an engine is called naturally aspirated?
The words come from (how) the early steam
expanders engines worked. Within the secondary
motion of the power cycle the top and or the
weight of the piston was (exposed) to the
(atmosphere) for the piston to be able to
touch the outside air. This allowed the piston
by gravity and non-vacuum to return and allow
the power cycle to happen again, to expand
again.

HOW TO FILL 12 HOURS
Hey Jeff. . .I always enjoy your "Just Wondering"
articles, and this edition is no different.
I do want to voice my opinion about one comment,
and that's the one about 12 hours being too
much television from Indy. I think the key
(as you have pointed out) is getting additional
ideas to the TV screen. . .not taking less
time. I for one want to see as much drag racing
on TV as I can find. I think this can be nothing
but a positive from John Q. Public's point
of view. I think more TV time can be used
to expand out sport.
As for other ideas, what about a two-minute
item on the car that wins the "Best Engineered"
title. . .and WHY it won the award. What's
so special? It's always hard to tell from
the awards picture in National Dragster.
What about an item about who is still burning
the midnight oil Saturday night, trying to
get their car ready for Sunday's eliminations?
I don't think many of the drivers are still
at the tracks, but what about the hard-working
crews?
What about an item about what the teams'
shops look like, and what in-house facilities
they have back home. Maybe even something
on why all the pro teams seem to be moving
their shops to Indy.
OK, my time's up. Thanks for listening and
keep wondering!
