SPREADING IT AROUND
Jeff: I am generally just a "lurker" BUT I have
to commend you on your latest editorial: //burksblast/vii_2-2.html
.
You have said it all.
Thanks for being so observant for us "Lil Guys".

SOME PROMOTERS HAVE ALREADY 'GOT
IT'
Jeff: Personally, I think you hit it right on the head with
your comments about spreading around the cash.
On related subject, you should talk to Ron Leek of Byron
Dragway and Cedar Falls about his payouts to bracket racers.
Payouts start with second round losers AND he still manages
to pay some of the largest winner's purses in weekly bracket
racing.

DO INQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW?
This past weekend was the start of the 2005 NHRA POWERade
Drag Racing Season. Like a lot of other people I couldn't
wait to watch all the action on ESPN2. What I could have
done without was Marty Reid being like a Rona Barrett! I
mean get serious! Is it in his contract that he has to talk
about a driver or a crew chief about something they did
wrong and got in trouble for? Yes, there were three individuals
two of them racers and one crew chief. The situation with
Whit Bazemore happened last November. As far as the incidents
with Bob Gilbertson and Wayne Dupay, let's see, I count
at least 5 different drag racing web-sites that told the
same story that Marty did. I also read about it in National
Dragster.
Why can't a person turn on a drag race, watch the race
and just enjoy themselves? People like Marty Reid give drag
racing a bad name. I thing people like Marty Reid need to
focus on what's happening on the track-DRAG RACING! Leave
the "Gossip" for the National Enquirer! God forbid
if Marty ever does anything inappropriate. I hope like hell
everyone runs his name into the ground like he does. Just
remember: "What goes around comes around!"
Thank you for your time.

Just wanted to thank you for the coverage that you are giving
the outlaw street car classes. We all work hard to do what
we do and the ink means a lot to us.
Thanks,

GET THE PICTURE?
Ian: Great articles! Finally got to read them and see the
pictures you posted from the weekend you were at Brainerd.
That is a really great shot of Billy's wheelstand. Just
in case you are wondering who this is, I was there shooting
pics and video too - remember now? At any rate my car is
almost done; hopefully you will end up with a pic of my
car someday (hint hint).
Thanks for your coverage of Brainerd Optimist; all the
local racers really do appreciate your time and talent.
