SNOW DRAGS IN SWEDEN
G’morning Agent,
Sweden calling again. I saw the mention of snowmobile asphalt
racing in the column.
We’re pretty far up north and have a fair number
of snow and asphalt racers.
I got the impression that you have not seen these guys
race and if so, you probably do not know how they pull off
good burnouts with no brakes on the front rollers. A real
stout chain and a block of concrete.

WORLD'S FASTEST AMC?
In regards to the 4/13/2004 article: "Ramble On"
(www.dragracingonline.com/carcloseup/vi_4-rambler-1.html):
What is the criteria used to determine that Mr. Wilder's
Rambler is the world's fastest AMC? Just asking because
I know of at least one AMC-powered, AMC-bodied doorslammer
that is faster than 8.40's. (7.99 @168.56)
He doesn't claim to be the world's fastest, but I just
wanted to let you know that there are some faster AMC's
out there. If you would like to view a discussion on this
subject, please visit my AMC Forum:

TOCHER REPLIES
Being an AMC person I would've thought you'd just be happy
to see some coverage of an awesome AMC entry!
To be honest, I don't know the criteria, I was just quoting
Blake on that, but keep in mind he was referring to performances
in 2002, so I don't know how that would affect things. Besides,
I didn't mean for this profile to be the definitive article
on all things AMC.
BTW, Blake sold the car last season. I'm not sure who owns
it now, but it's still in Georgia.
