Would you be talking about "Crazy Connie" and
her Camaro-nosed MAVERICK? Just wondering.

OOPS TOO
Just read (Chris Martin's) article on Sox & Leal! Great
story!! However, I don't think they ran Torque-Flites, maybe
true four speeds or early Lencos!

ON TRACK PREP
I agree with your article and I would like to see what would
have been done at Topeka had the Force, Kallitta or Schumacher
teams qualified in the bottom half. Track preparation would
probably have been handled a little differently. I think
the widening gap between the big money teams and the low
budget teams is hurting the sport. I do not find it entertaining
to see team members race each other or seeing the same people
winning all the time.
Thank you for a great page. It's very informative and entertaining.

TRACK PREP TOO
I agree regarding the state of Top Fuel and Funny Car "races"
becoming either "one car goes up in smoke" or
both "pedal fest." Who would have wanted to pay
top dollar at Columbus recently for Friday night qualifying
to watch virtually NO ONE make it down the track. NHRA should
have refunded entry fees for that debacle or given free
admission for Saturday. The fact that they were able to
fix it overnight means they should have done it ahead of
time.

SAY IT AIN'T SO
We're in the entertainment business...Barney Oldfield is
dead...get over it.
If you want to see close, competitive racing, go to the
bracket races...I can all but guarantee you'll get a good
seat, as no one else will be there who isn't running a car.
We missed our shot at Vince McMahon of the WWE...Bruton
Smith is waiting in the wings, but won't come on board unless
he can buy in at ten cents on the dollar...and Elvis, at
last reports, is either dead or still tired of all the commotion.

UP THE DOWN LADDER
FYI, back in the "good old days," in the Pacific
Northwest, the ladder was set up for #1 to race #9, #2 to
race #10, etc. I don't know when it changed but it did.
In my opinion this helped balance the races and gave the
fans a better show.
Thanks.
