MAYBE NOSTALGIA SUPER STREET
Jeff, I agree. Although I am a little older than that crowd,
I still leave when the Pro Stocks pull to the line. They
need a class like the old Super Street of old. Pappas, Samuels,
Scavo and maybe as fast as Musi and Rieger. Stock appearing
is key to the fan -- something that they can relate to.

PRO MOD BURNOUT
Regarding the current state of Pro Mod, as a racer (TD)
and geriatric fan, I was blown away when Pro Mod first showed
up, not because of the ET's but more so because of the broad
variety of bodies especially the older styles like the Willys,
Studes, etc., etc. Pro Mod was exciting, new and indeed
a blast from the past. Now?...as you said, slow Funny Cars....all
the same. Heck I've seen enough '63 Vette's to last me two
lifetimes. I suspect to the "part-time" fan there's
not a discernable difference between a 6.0 funny car and
a 6.2 Pro Mod...My suggestions are as follows: A specific
pre-1980 Pro Mod category to recapture the initial excitement
of the class. I would hate to see Pro Mod come and go as
simply a minor transitory blip on the screen that befell
PS Truck Like I said, as a racer, I used to never miss a
Pro Mod round...but now....."yawn"....Does the
"non-committed" fan feel the same way?

YEAH, BABY
NASCAR was cool back in the day of 210 MPH and flying through
the air crashes. As goes for NHRA, when smoke would roll
off the tires from start to half way down the 1/4 mile.
10.5 tire with unlimited horsepower? I think that would
be better than Pro Stock.
Now, Pro Mod with 10.5s! LOOK OUT!

TOO COOL TO BE PREDICTABLE
I couldn't agree more! The "big races" NHRA stuff
is fun to watch but doesn't have the same cool factor outlaw
10.5 races do! Nitro cars are still the baddest cars on
the planet but watching a car with 10-inch rubber is a edge
of your seat pass every time. Very unpredictable!

THE END
Well, I hope they're happy now. After 16 straight years
of going to the national event in Seattle I had to finally
say, no more. The high price of just one day was too much.
And it was just Sat. only! Over $75.00 for just myself and
my 6-year-old boy for Non Refundable tickets, and that's
not including Parking!
Why we have to pay for highly sponsored teams just does
not make any sense to me anymore. Yes, I know prices are
high everywhere. Why am I sore? Gee whiz, my boy is only
6 and his ticket for Saturday only is $20.00 for a reserved
seat (which is the only way to go to avoid the beer crowd),
most other places kids under 12 are in for half that. But
to stick my neck out for that much money, what if it rains?
Can't come back during the week, I work, if something happens
before the race and can't go? Lose that money, gone, good
bye. Maybe I'm just venting because I got priced out of
something I've done for so long but NHRA could do something
for the kids. Greed should not include the young people
who would some day be drivers.
Instead we are going to the open house at McChord AFB to
watch the Thunderbrids for FREE, and see stuff more geared
toward kids. And, of course, show a little support for our
military.
Yep, sure hope NHRA is happy now!
