Handouts and Photos from the
Vaults of DRO

Over the years I've accumulated a lot of black and white handouts and
press kit photos of some very interesting cars and drivers. In past
years B&W photography was a part of every press kit. With the advent
of the internet and electronic journalism the need for 8x10 press photos
is rapidly becoming a thing of the past. See if some of these examples
don't bring back a memory or two for you.
DWANE ONG'S "PAWNBROKER"
Don Garlits gets the credit for perfecting the rear-engined Top Fuel
car but before Garlits, Dwane Ong built one and even won an AHRA National
Event in New York, I believe. According to some sources Garlits came
and had a long look at Ong's car while recuperating from the famous
Lion's crash.
