Dave,
I have a Chrysler
511 CI with 13.28-1 compression. How much nitrous
can I run with that much compression without damaging
parts? Will I have to lower the timing? I am presently
running 33 deg.

Mike,
Poor ole nitrous sure takes the blame for all the evils in
the world. However, it's not the nitrous that hurts parts,
it is poor tuning decisions usually combined with unrealistic
expectations. Take it slow and conservative and you will get
along fine. Try and rotate the earth right away and you will
have some souvenirs to autograph.
With 13:1 you have plenty of HP maneuvering room provided
the engine components are up to the task. Timing rule of thumb
is 4 degrees back for every 100 horses. No way around it.
You may not need to pull that much but it's a good place to
start. Learn to tune 100-200 hp and you will scare the heck
out of yourself. Then get really crazy with the HP if you
need/want to. Just remember that as the torque/hp goes up
so does the strain on parts.
Have a safe race,
