Cristian Quadra will be driving one of the new Mustang Pro Stocks this season.

 

In addition to taking on the task of developing their own engine building program, Team Quadra is switching to Jerry Haas-built race cars featuring Mustang bodies. Team patriarch Fernando Quadra stated the Mustang bodies are significantly more aerodynamic than Camaros. He will continue to campaign last season’s Camaro until the third Haas Mustang is delivered in May.  

Prock sets personal best at Vegas test session

Austin Prock and the Montana Brand / Rocky Mountain Twist team, headed by Mike Green and newcomer to John Force Racing Joe Barlam, showed some serious promise when they laid down a 3.682-second pass on Friday during testing at Las Vegas. The run, which clocked in at 333.08 mph, is an unofficial career best for the 2019 Auto Club Road to the Future Award winner. 

Kumre to make NHRA national event debut at Pomona

NHRA Heritage Series regular Jerry Kumre Jr. will again be behind the wheel of the Eakins Family Racing A/Fuel Dragster. He will make his national event debut at the 60th NHRA Winternationals held at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona, Feb. 6-9.

 

“We had originally planned on racing together again at the NHRA Finals in November, but scheduling didn’t work out. Getting to race at the opening event of the 2020 season and at the 60th Winternationals is such an honor. I am so glad to get to work with Randy Eakins, Brett Johansen and their crew once again,” stated Kumre.  

DeJoria’s new ride is Langdon’s old one

The new ride for returning driver Alexis DeJoria is the race-proven Toyota shoed last season by Shawn Langdon. The team added some new vinyl and was ready to make its debut this year.   

John Andretti dies of cancer at age 56

John Andretti, IndyCar, NASCAR and IMSA driver, has died after a battle with colon cancer. He briefly tried his hand in NHRA Top Fuel driving for owner Jack Clark in 1993.

 

He was the nephew of Mario Andretti and cousin of Michael Andretti. He was 56 years old and had been racing for over 20 years.  

GET’M Performance to sponsor Motor City Muscle Challenge

GET'M Performance will be sponsoring the MotorCity Muscle Challenge N/A 9-inch Heads Up series for the foreseeable future. “This series allows heads up racers to enjoy exciting N/A racing competition without breaking the bank and GET’M Performance is honored to be a part of this grassroots racing series,” commented Trevor Wiggins with GET’M Performance Products.

 

MotorCity Muscle Challenge is a heads up, naturally aspirated (N/A) class running on 9” tires using a 4150 carb with a cubic inch rule.

 

This year’s six-race series kicks off at US 131 Motorsports Park with the F.A.S.T. Spring Nationals (May 8-9) followed by US 131 Motorsports Park Invitational (June 13-14). The series also will compete during the NMCA’s 19th Annual All-American Nationals at Summit Motorsports Park (Aug. 27-30) and NMCA’s 19th Annual Word Street Finals at Lucas Oil Raceway (Sept. 24-27). Stay tuned for the additional dates and location.  

CTech named title sponsor of World Doorslammer Nationals

CTech Manufacturing, an industry leader in the manufacturing of racing carts, cabinets and drawers, has been named the title sponsor for the upcoming Drag Illustrated World Doorslammer Nationals, which takes place March 6-8 at Orlando Speed World Dragway.

 

The inaugural event puts the spotlight on Pro Mod and Pro Stock, as winners in both classes at the CTech Manufacturing World Doorslammer Nationals will receive $50,000.
