NEW TOP FUEL TEAMS FOR IHRA
At least three more Top Fuel teams, in addition to the Montana Express team,
are letting it be known they are going to attempt
the complete 2004 IHRA season. The Agent hears
that Grant Flowers, with tuning help from Brent
Fanning, are scheduled for twelve events. The

also hears that the Oblong, Illinois-based Stevens
family fueler that Tim Gibson drove at Indy
last year is going to run the junior circuit.
A driver and sponsor for that effort hasn't
been announced yet.
Doug Foley and Tim Lewis, co-owners of Foley
& Lewis Racing, a No. 9 finisher in the national
standings for Top Alcohol Dragster in 2003 has
announced the formation of a Top Fuel Dragster
team for 2004. They have purchased a turn-key
car from Bruce Litton Racing with plans on attending
approximately a dozen events. They have hired
Doug Kuch as their crew chief and tested/licensed
in Bradenton, FL on January 12-13, making four
successful runs in preparation for the season.
They plan to debut the team at the IHRA San
Antonio race in March. [1-21-2004]
HEAD AND TOLIVER TEAM UP?
It's strictly a rumor, but the Agent hears
that Jim Head and Jerry Toliver will form a
team with Toliver in a Toyota F/C and Head in
a Top Fuel car (or will he also drive a flopper?}.
The pair will obviously be getting tuning aid
from Alan Johnson. Last year the rumor was that
Toliver had secured sponsorship from a disposable
razor company. The new rumor is that a distilled
liquor has also come on board. That could a
joint sponsorship for both cars or one for each.
