COWIN RUNS A '4' DOWN UNDER
Andrew
Cowin recorded the first four-second pass at
the new Western Sydney International Dragway
in Australia. Driving the Cowin family's Rocket
Industries Top Fuel dragster, the 24-year-old
Cowin recorded a 4.98/296 mph run during a test
session.
After a non-racing injury last March in Bristol,
TN, Cowin left the Carrier Boyz team and returned
home to Australia to recuperate
"At the time it was a hard decision to make,
especially leaving the Carriers who were so
good to me," said Cowin, "but it was the right
one and I'm glad I came home. I'm now fully
fit and. . .I'm itching to get back to the U.S.
and race in the big league." (Gerald

DOES ALICE WALKER KNOW ABOUT
THIS?
After several years in the review process,
Royal Purple has received a federal trademark
for the exclusive use of purple containers for
their lubricants.
"It's a huge plus when someone doesn't even
have to see the label to know it's a Royal Purple
product -- the color alone is enough to identify
the supplier," said T. Mark McFann, marketing
director of Royal Purple.
Since its inception in 1986, Royal Purple has
trademarked its company name, its logos, its
key product names and now its purple packaging.
The company also is in the process of trademarking
the purple color of its lubricants. [2-4-2004]
