TOO MUCH ANGELLE

ESPN’s Marty Reid sat down with temperamental Pro Stock bike rider Angelle Savoie to talk about her recent problems with husband Nicky, who, according to media reports allegedly broke into his estranged wife’s home and threatened her at gunpoint.

Savoie stated, “I really don’t want to get into the actual events, although I do want to set the record straight.” Savoie went on for over five minutes of the hour-long show explaining to the viewers how judgments have been passed on her, her motorcycle dealership is

failing, her life has been tough and it’s hard for her to keep her chin up and keep going. “It’s tough being a racer; it’s tough being a female in racing; it’s tough being a woman trying to succeed on her own,” complained the three-time national champ.

A suggestion, Ms. Savoie, next time remember two little words when dealing with the media concerning your private life; “No Comment”.

You can’t have it both ways by asking that people stay out of your private life and then airing the trials and tribulations of your personal life on national television. If this were truly a private matter, why is ESPN digging deeper? ESPN should be covering drag racing from Columbus on an already very short qualifying show, but instead they repeated portions of this very private matter in the following day’s eliminations show. Shame on both of you.
