DRO IS REALLY NOSTALGIC
FOR HORAN
The fans were on their feet for Drag Racing
Online's Nostalgia Nitro Funny Car warm-up at
SoCal's Irwindale Dragstrip on June 17. In the
photo, crew chief Dale Pulde for Dan Horan Jr.
lines up the sleek Carter-painted Mustang flopper
for the first of his passes. Horan charged down
the 1/8-mile, running a stout track-record 4.253/175.98.
On his second pass Dan was asked by Irwindale
track manager Bob Klein to "slow it down a little"
and ran an early shut-off 4.158/158.78. There's
no doubt the car hooked-up with a 1.024 60-foot
time. www.IrwindaleDragstrip.com.

NEW RIDE FOR ANDERSON
The Agent received this exclusive spy photo of the arrival of a brand-new Jerry
Haas-built car at Greg Anderson's shop near
Mooresville, NC. With the announcement of Summit
Racing Equipment coming on board as the new
primary sponsor for Anderson, it looks like
a trip to the paint shop is in order before
this one hits the strip. [6-18-2004]
PULDE RETURNING?
One of the Agent's West Coast operative's carrier
pigeons just landed at the DRO World Headquarters
with a note attached to his leg that said Dale
Pulde, who has been spending a lot of time recently
in the Nostalgia Funny Car ranks, possibly could
return to NHRA Fuel Coupe racing during NHRA's
"western swing." The word is that Pulde will
drive Steve Pluger's single pump/single mag
car at Seattle. Al Segrini was the first shoe
in this car and they struggled with it. If anyone
can make that car run well enough to qualify
it would be Pulde. [6-18-2004]
