STRUTTING THEIR STUFF
NHRA officials are passing the word to the
crew chiefs in the Memphis Top Fuel pits that
there will be changes to the way the wing will
be attached to the strut which attaches to
the car. The changes will be in effect at Indy. [8-19-2004]
WORSHAM’S A FREAK
Del Worsham, driver of the red Checker, Schuck’s,
Kragen Monte Carlo Funny Car, will appear as
a guest on the racing show “The SpeedFreaks.”
Worsham’s interview will air on both
radio and TV. The radio version of Worsham’s
show will air on August 29, between 10:00 p.m.
and Midnight (Eastern Time.) On national television,
the program will hit Speed Channel on Monday,

DIAMONDS IN THE ROUGH?
Frank Pedregon, eldest of the Brothers Pedregon
recently announced that he would return to
competition with a new funny car team as soon
as the 50th Mac Tools U.S. Nationals. At

Sonoma
it was also announced that Jeff Flasco’s
Underdog Racing had inked a new three-year
deal with with the veteran driver. Earlier
this year, Flasco helped put the deal together
with Jeff Arend and Canadian Urban Casavant’s
CMKX diamond exploration company.
However, the Agent hears there may be a delay
in putting the entire Pedregon deal together.
Redline Oil is on board as an associate sponsor,
but the rumored connection to the Hollywood
movie biz and advertisers marketing to the
Hispanic community may be more difficult to
finalize than had been anticipated.
The car Frankie’s team was planning
on buying and racing at Indy was the 2003 Pomona
Finals runner-up Firebird owned by Worsham & Fink
Racing and driven at that event by Cory Lee.
However, that car (shown) and transporter still
sit in Worsham’s Anaheim, Calif. shop
and according to sources still for sale. Not
only will the delay possibly keep Frank Pedregon
from racing at Indy but it also kept driver
Cory Lee from putting together a program for
