A HUNKA HUNKA BURNOUT LOVE
Clay Millican took the Team 104+ Performance
Additives/Lehman Racing Top Fuel Dragster on
a little jaunt down Elvis Presley Boulevard
past the "Graceland Wall" in Memphis. The Elvis-themed
dragster will return for the "50 Years of Rock
'n Roll" celebration during the Aug. 20-22 NHRA

1 IF BY LAND, 2 IF BY SEA,
3 IF BY NITRO
The Agent hears through one of his East Coast sources that New England Dragway in Epping, NH may be leaving the IHRA fold in order to gain an NHRA national event. A call to the track confirmed they are "in negotiations. It's not a done deal yet, but we want to get John Force and those guys in here."
The Agent wonders what national event on the current NHRA schedule might lose
its date for the new Minuteman Nationals or
will the schedule expand to 24? [8-9-2004]
RAFFA SCHOLARSHIP ESTABLISHED
The Agent got a note from John Raffa's widow,
Karen, who has gotten together with SEMA (Specialty
Equipment Market Association - the largest organization
that serves the automotive after-market) and
they've agreed to manage a Scholarship Fund
in his name.

The
"John Raffa Memorial Scholarship" will be given
to a student studying Journalism. The fund will
be established when they have received $10,000
and it will run in perpetuity (that means forever)!
To begin the fund, SEMA will require $100 from
100 people in "John Raffa's name" to the SEMA
Memorial Scholarship Fund. If more money comes
in, they will give away more.
It's a fitting memorial to a journalist who taught a number of DRO staffers and others in the business how to do this job. Our check's in the mail.
Write your tax deductible check (minimum of
$100) to SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund. Be
sure to write "John Raffa" on the memo line
and mail to: SEMA, C/O Faith Barnese, 1575 South
Valley Vista Drive, Diamond Bar, CA 91765. [8-9-2004]
