FEWER RACES FOR NHRA PRO MODS
IN 2006
One rumor being passed around at the Las Vegas AMS/TLR
banquet was that the schedule for the Pro Mods at NHRA
next year will be reduced from 12 races to 10. According
to usually reliable sources who called the Agent, not
only will there be fewer races but they will be at some
different tracks than those currently on the schedule.
The Agent guesses that races that don’t include
the Alky Funny Cars and dragsters would be prime for Pro
Mod. The Agent also hears that having the Pro Mod cars
at the NHRA SportsNationals did little to increase ticket
sales and actually made some of the Sportsman racers mad.

JEG’S SAYS NO DECISION
HAS BEEN MADE. TROY HEADED SOUTH
Scott Woodruff, spokesman for the Jeg’s organization,
called the Agent to say that absolutely no decision about
Jeg’s involvement with any race team for the 2006
season has been made and that, as they always do, Jeg’s
will look at all options and review the 2005 season before
making any decision concerning their involvement with
any racing team for next season.

At the same time he let the Agent know that Troy Coughlin
is taking his Sonny Leonard-powered Cavalier to the “Big
Dog” race down South this weekend to race against
the best “street legal” cars in drag racing.
Since the “Big Dog” has been a team affair
in the past, pitting the North vs. South, the Agent wonders
which team the Buckeye from Columbus will be on? (Jerry
