AMERIQUEST RUMOR TURNS OUT TRUE
On Friday the Agent's sources reported the Ameriquest
sponsorship of Don Prudhomme's Top Fuel dragster wouldn't
be renewed. This item was confirmed over the weekend and
Prudhomme is out looking for a replacement. Whether Ameriquest
also won't be back as a title rights sponsor for the Chicago
race isn't yet known. [10-10-2005]
Taylor Lastor debuted a new '68 Camaro Pro Mod at the
ORSCA season ender at Huntsville Dragway. The car, built
by Skinny Kid Race Cars in Highland, MI, sports a twin-turboed,
640-cubic-inch motor under its hood, and was assembled
by Lastor's TRE Racing Engines shop in Knoxville, TN.
Unfortunately, new car blues prevented him from making
any representative passes at Huntsville, but once sorted
out, Lastor said he plans to enter it in the AMS Pro Mod
series next year. (Ian Tocher
