HIGGINS TEAM HAS NEW LOOK

Jay Higgins's new CVP Racing has unveiled the team's new look for 2006 with coordinated paint schemes and House of Kolor pearl custom paint designed and applied by Dino's Custom Paintworks of Rockingham, NC. The five-car team will compete in Super Stock and Stock in both IHRA and NHRA. Higgins will field a new East Texas Race Cars-built Cobalt. IHRA National and Divisional Champion Scott Stillings will drive his S/S Grand Am and Stock eliminator Camaro. Rounding out the CVP team will be multi-winner Danny Stanton driving Higgins's S/S Camaro with Cam Tingen wheeling Stanton's S/S Achieva. [12-08-2005]

PSCA ADDS MOTEC CONTINGENCY

MoTeC Systems USA will have a contingency program for the 2006 Pacific Street Car Association Drag Racing campaign. MoTeC will offer a total of $44,000 in contingency certificates for racers in 11 classes of Pacific Street Car competition from Pro Street down to Bracket 1.

“We will offer the certificates to racers who run any of our current Engine Management lineup which starts with the M4 and M48 and extends through our M400 – 880 line of engine management systems,” explained Shane Tecklenburg of MoTeC. “In addition, we will offer contingency certificates for the MoTeC CDI-8 which is an 8 Channel CDI ignition than can run stand alone or can be controlled by one of our Engine Management Systems.”  [12-08-2005]

The Atchison Racing Team will feature a new paint scheme for 2006 on both the new Monte Carlos and a totally new trailer scheme designed by Stu Wotypka of ID Motorsports Design. PULITZER ACCEPTS ONLINE MEDIA ENTRIES

For the first time, the board that awards the Putlizer Prize for journalism will accept entries in breaking news and photography that appeared only online. Although newspapers have been online for years, always before the Pulitzer board would only consider stories that had appeared in print.

While the Agent has no illusions that DRO could be in the running (although you never know), it is nice to see that the venerable publishing industry sees that there is real journalism being done online. We're not all chat rooms, anonymous message boards, and blogs.  [12-08-2005]
