FUNNY CAR SUMMER?

With Del Worsham in his Blue Max Mustang replica and the interest generated by Ron Capps driving a nostalgia nitro funny car at the Pomona Goodguys event last summer, the Agent hears that history may be repeating itself. One of his operatives reports that there have been a couple of NHRA tour flopper pilots angling for limited rides in West Coast VRA competition next year at non-conflicting dates.  (Jeff Burk photo) [12-08-2005]

MORE REALITY SHOWS ABOUT DRAG RACING

The Agent has reported in the past that John Force might be involved in a reality show. Now we hear that not only will the deal actually happen, but that Force even went so far as to either buy the production company or pay for the production to make sure that the deal happens. Either way the Agent can’t wait to see 30 minutes of unadulterated, un-edited John Force.  [12-08-2005]

UPS HASN’T DELIVERED YET, BUT DAVENPORT HAS

The Agent hears that Wayne Dupuy’s brother Jim has been hired by Bob Vandergriff Jr. to get his Top Fuel operation ready for next year. The only problem is that the UPS deal we’ve been hearing about for some time has yet to be announced. Unfortunately for the Vandergriffs, UPS apparently is close to being struck by the unions.

On the other hand another second generation racer from a legacy drag racing family, John Spar of B&M, is slated to drive the former Joe Amato/Morgan Lucas Top Fueler that Las Vegas entrepreneur Doug Davenport acquired earlier this year. [12-08-2005]
