HOLY TOLEDO RE-DO
Okay, okay, the Agent must have been brain dead (too many
nitro fumes over the years?) when we ran the wrong old
photo for the Jeep comparison yesterday. As several readers
pointed out, the picture of the Jeep we ran was actually
the "Destroyer" campaigned by Gene Conway, owner
of C & O Transmissions. Here's quiz for extra points:
what was Conway's real name?
Here is the correct photo of Ed Lenarth's "Holy Toledo." (Thank
heavens the name is painted on the side in BIG letters!) (DRO

COUGHLIN ADDS TOP SPORTSMAN
The Agent talked to Troy Coughlin after reading a press
release that said that the Pro Mod racer was going Pro
Street racing with the NSCA at their upcoming event at
Bowling Green. Seems like Troy and the Jeg's organization
had planned to race a Top Sportsman car even before the
Pro Mod opportunity came along. Troy purchased an ex-NHRA
Pro Stock car from Jerry Haas and had him modify the
car to accept the bigger tires they run in Top Sportsman/Pro
Street competition. The engine they will use is a Sonny
Leonard 800+ inch Chevy/Hemi and Troy says he also will
be running the car in NHRA Top Sportsman racing. Can
you say 6.50/215mph Top Sportsman?
