TOP SPORTSMAN AT ATLANTA

NHRA Top Sportsman will make their debut at this weekend's Southern Nationals in Atlanta. Top Sportsman competition was started in Division 2 by Ronnie Davis in 2002. (This is the last free plug in Agent 1320 for the golf cart mogul.) Since it was originally introduced in 2002 NHRA divisions 2, 3 and 4 have adopted the class. [5-9-2005]

BENEFIT IN SALEM, OREGON

The Agent got a note from Rich Bailey who is promoting a car show benefit for a young girl who has an inoperable brain tumor. The event is scheduled for June 4 in the Albertson's parking lot on South Commercial Street in Salem, Oregon. All of the proceeds will go to Bailey Santana and her family.

Paul Romine has donated his CARQUEST firesuit to be auctioned and Doug Herbert Racing is also donating items. Items to be donated can be sent to ProMotion Motorsports, 4826 Chan St., Salem, OR 97306. [5-9-2005]

DRAW READYING FOR AUCTION

The Drag Racing Association of Women will hold their annual auction at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, IL on Saturday, June 11. There will be both a silent and live auctions.

Two other auction events will be held this year: a silent auction at the wine tasting fundraiser at the Sonoma, CA race at the end of July and a live auction held at the Dallas Fall Nationals in September.

Items can be shipped to DRAW Auction c/o Rosalee Noble, 4 Hance Dr., Charleston, IL 61920 and must be received by June 1, 2005. Items may also be dropped off at the DRAW booth on the Manfacturers Midway at any national event prior to this race, or at the auction site between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on June 11.

All contributions are tax deductible. DRAW is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, during which time it has provided almost $2.5 million to individuals injured in drag racing accidents. [5-9-2005]

BOAT RACERS REUNION AT POMONA

If you're interested in vintage racing boats, the Agent recommends the Boat Racers Reunion Committee display as part of the Southern California Marine Association's Boat Show at the L.A. County Fairplex in Pomona on June 11-12.
