GOAT IN THE TUNNEL
Agent 1320 received these photos from the nice folks at
GM showing the recent wind tunnel test of their new Pontiac
GTO NHRA Pro Stocker. A quick look at the front of the GTO
compared to the Cobalt shows why GM's Pro Stock teams are
salivating at the thought of getting their hands on this
body. The GTO's will debut at the upcoming NHRA National
event at Denver. As you are no doubt aware Denver is over
5000 ft above sea level. The higher altitude means less
air pressure and aero may not be as big a factor as it will
be on the rest of the NHRA Western Swing where the teams
will race at or near sea level.
The Agent will go out on a limb and predict that the Johnson's
and the Greg Anderson team will re-set all of the NHRA Pro
Stock records with this new body and force the Mopar camp
do come up with a new shell for 2006. [7-12-2005]

The
Jeffers Pro Cars-backed Outlaw Pro Mod series returns to
the eighth-mile at Gateway International Raceway just across
the river from downtown St. Louis, MO on July 16. Most of
the Midwest hitters should return for this fourth in the
six-race series. Cars from all over the Midwest generally
show up and series organizer/driver Donnie Little with help
from sponsor Larry Jeffers will qualify up to 16 cars. First
round qualifiers get their entry fee back. If the race is
run to completion DRO will have full coverage of this race
in the magazine. The Agent and his operatives will be at
the race. Be there or be square.
