HORAN HANGOVER

It's reported that Nostalgia Nitro Funny Car record holder Dan Horan had his points from the recent Goodguys race at Pomona disallowed because his Mustang front end had 44.5 inches of overhang instead of the VRA-mandated 40 inches. tenths of a second separated the pole sitter, Andy Robinson and his immaculate Studebaker, and the bump spot. Robinson's 6.349 marked the first time a Brit had topped a European Pro Mod field. Another Pro Mod of aircraft carrier dimensions is Seppo Saapola's 1959 Chrysler 300. The Finnish entry is in the shakedown phase, having just taken delivery of the car from Mats Eriksson's chassis shop, a 6.797 left the Tarpaulin.fi backed team as one of many ruing the loss of the final qualifying session to the dreaded wet stuff.
