on the newly re-surfaced track. Brad Rigler (shown) was
the No. 2 qualifier in the "Toxic" altered,
just two thousandths slower than Larry Reep's 5.453. The
two '23 T-bodies wound up in the final round, but this
time with Rigler coming out on top 5.51/165 to Reep's
5.53/196.
It was Reep's first final round appearance.
Rigler had made it to the finals four times this year,
but it was his first win. He also now has the points lead
for the championship, as former leader Eric Buchanan missed
this event.
Next event for the OFAA (www.outlawfuelaltereds.com)

JOLIET LIKES ROUNDY-ROUND
BETTER THAN STRAIGHT LINE RACING
Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, IL, sister circle track
to the Route 66 Raceway quarter-mile dragstrip, has just
announced its 2006 schedule which will feature NASCAR's
Busch Series and NEXTEL Cup Series races in July and the
season-ending IRL IndyCar Series race in September. The
2005 season was sold-out, according to Matthew Alexander,
VP and GM of the Speedway, and they encourage race fans
to get their '06 tickets early. The dragstrip could not
support two NHRA national events and will only have one
in 2006. [9-15-2005]
