FORCE WAS FIRST DRAG RACER NOMINATED FOR ESPY AWARD
John Force was one of three finalists for the ESPN Espy Award as 1999
Auto Racer of the Year. The first drag racer ever included in the ESPN
all-sports awards show, Force joined Dale Earnhart, the 1999 NASCAR
Winston Cup Champion, and Juan Montoya, the 1999 CART Champion as nominees.
Earnhart won the award at presentation ceremonies at the MGM Grand Hotel
on Monday, February 14.
IT PAYS TO ADVERTISE
NHRA's new advertising campaign should provide greater name recognition
for NHRA Winston Drag Racing. A new print ad is scheduled to appear
in Sports Illustrated and a TV ad reportedly will air during
the Daytona 500. Also look for a Ford TV ad at Daytona featuring Dale
Jarrett and the inimitable John Force.
