WILSON NHRA PRO STOCK CAREER BEGINS
Defending IHRA Pro Stock World Champ and freshman NHRA Pro Stock racer
Gene Wilson, son of master fisherman and outdoor leading man Orlando
Wilson, finally broke into the qualifying ranks at Bristol. It seems
only fitting to the Agent that the budding super star of Pro Stock would
qualify for his first race at a track that for years was the headquarters
and hometrack for the International Hot Rod Association. (photo by Jeff

ANGELLE AND THE DALLAS COWBOYS?
The big sports story on the Dallas/Ft.Worth TV stations is that Jerry
Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys, is starting a NASCAR team and that
he wants Tony Stewart to drive. The Agent wonders if maybe the rumored
new sponsor for Angelle Savoie, which is supposed to be announced at
Atlanta, could be the same Jerry Jones. Stranger things have happened.
The Agent is just making a wild guess at this possibility. (file photo

RICHARDSON, FUQUA, SZERLEG TEAM UP
Agent 1320 has learned that bracket greats Scotty Richardson of Goodlettsville,
Tennessee, Mike Fuqua of Hendersonville, Tennessee and Dave Szerleg
of Livonia, Michigan have teamed up for a three- or four-dragster assault
at "big money" Southern bracket races. The three-man team will share
four dragsters and will hit chosen races from Alabama to Tennessee to
Kentucky throughout the spring and possibly summer. All three are national,
divisional, IHRA and NHRA class and bracket winners, and they will be
touring the South and Northeast in Szerleg's four-car travel hauler.
The three racers will share four Worthy-built dragsters owned by Fuqua.
According to Richardson, they may pursue the big-money bracket races
through the rest of the year. [5-1-2002]
