TRACTION CONTROL COMING IN
2004, PT 2
After the Agent put up the rumor about NHRA
allowing some type of electronic traction devices
in some classes in 2004, one reader reports
that she called the NHRA tech

and was told that the report was just some more
"internet bulls**t."
We'll see boys, we'll see. [10-2-2003]
HERBERT UPDATE ... TEN AND
COUNTING
The Agent heard from Doug Herbert who told
us he was at 10 oil-downs, not eleven. Herbert
did get the appropriate fine for oiling the
track. So the Agent's previous questions concerning
how Herbert and Romine were treated by NHRA
were unwarranted for now. The problems, if any,
will come if Herbert gets credited with another
oil-down.
It would be nice, though, if NHRA posted the
oil-downs on their website regularly since they
have made such an issue out of them publicly.
And as long as we're on the subject, how come
when Romine went over to the Carrier Boyz team
his oil-down count, according to Romine, went
down to the number the team had when he joined
them. However when Wes Cerny joined the Hebert
team, he had two oil-downs to his credit. Now
that he's joined Herbert, how come Herbert is
credited with ten, when he's only oiled the
track three times with Cerny tuning. Just wondering.

STOTT
PLANTS ONE
Earlier the Agent reported that Mitch Stott
was going to move to Top Fuel for the 2004 season.
Even though the Agent checked the story with
a source on the team, apparently the Agent got
used a bit. Seems like the likeable Stott is
on a fishing expedition and using the press.
He put the word out that he was going to make
the switch and even had a rendering done just
to see if, perhaps, a sponsor would come forth.
Now the Agent hears that Quain Stott's younger
brother will continue to run a Pro Mod at least
through next season and that Jimmy Rector will
remain as tuner.
Mitch, son, it's not nice to play with the
Agent's emotions like that. (Jeff
