Amazingly, despite the fact that driver Fred Hahn never had the opportunity to have the car "fitted" to him since a trip to Australia for that purpose wasn't in the budget, Fred says the car fits him fine.

While the chassis is certainly innovative, the C-5 body itself is where the casual observer can see the most work has been done. Murray Anderson went to great effort to retain the stock look of the body and yet improve the aerodynamics. Oddy also told us that Anderson spent a lot of time in the wind tunnel developing the rear wing shape and the position it is mounted on the body.

The one bad thing about a mail order car is that there is little control of the delivery system, especially when Mother Nature doesn't cooperate. Bad weather in the Pacific kept the Summit Racing Equipment-backed team from getting the new 'Vette with enough time to finish it and test. As a consequence, the team of Oddy and Hahn, with the considerable help of crew chief Billy Leverentz and Jim's twin sons Dan and Dave, were able to finish just in time to get the car to Rockingham for the IHRA season opener.
