According
to co-crew chief Bernie Fedderly, "We're taking
the best of everything we have going on the
other two teams and trying to put together something
that's real user friendly and we are struggling
while we get a grasp on it. There are some subtle
differences between all the cars, but there's
enough difference that it keeps you guessing,
that's for sure."
When asked if it might be simpler to return
to last year's championship-winning combination,
Fedderly said, "We are always looking for the
next step and we think we have some good direction
here; it's getting it all to work. We are all
a little frustrated. We all hope we could just
jump right out there an put the big numbers
on the board, but it doesn't always work that
way."
Force commented, "Hey, losing only aggravates
you, but I'm going to turn 'em around. You

your own destiny. I don't believe in the moons
being all aligned and all that trick stuff.
I just believe we are off our game a lot. We
are going to stay over on Monday, every round
we can until we figure it out. I have the best
in technology, the best in equipment, got the
best crew chief in the brain trust and they
are all giving each other help. I've got two
cars that are good and one that isn't."
When asked if he was just handing over the
2003 POWERade Championship to his driver Tony
Pedregon, Force responded, "No, no, no. If I
was going to help Tony, I need to win enough
rounds to help him and I can't even get to help
him."
Force's first round Vegas loss is the third
of this season and he only has one round win
at Phoenix for a .225 average. John is still
sitting outside the POWERade Top 10, having
his worst start since the 1989 season.
